Hi, IMHO dancing is ONLY about training.
There is some kind of cheat, you pause game just when she make a gesture, set up the finger to the right key, unpause and voila!
I play Pirates! a long time, so I am trained.

You should consider getting yourself a USB Number Pad for your laptop:

That's just an example; not a suggestion as to which specific one to get.

We've made many, many posts about dueling on Swashbuckler. I find the key to success is the Taunt:

Parry, Taunt. Parry, Taunt. Parry, Taunt

Each time you Taunt, the Advantage meter shifts in your direction slightly -- AND it slows down your opponent. When he slows down to something manageable, instead of doing a Taunt, make a serious attack instead. Then go back to Parry-Taunt combinations until he's slowed down again. It helps with the Parry if you use the Cutlass (fastest Defense/slowest Attack).

The downside with this strategy is that if it's ship combat, your crew are dying while you dillydally around.

As for the dancing,...just get the Number Pad. It works sooooo much better for you.

As others have said before, get a number pad for your laptop. And as soon as a merchant offers them, get the calfskin boots and dancing slippers(a better way is hoping that a wanted man with a low bounty offers these up because the slippers ain't cheap(1-2k on the boots, 2-3k on the slippers beats 2-3k on boots and 4-6k on slippers from a merchant)).

But there is a set routine that you will eventually pick up which gives you a heads up on which way she'll go after certain moves. It's not 100% reliable, because the game likes to throw a few curveballs in there, but it's reliable enough to give you at least a wink.
