Board Guidelines

Welcome! Here is a few guidelines for our beloved forums - follow these, and you'll most certainly enjoy your stay! ).gif

1. Search - do a search for the keywords you were going to put in your topic-title, it's a big chance someone has asked the same question before. You will might get your answer quicker, and others don't have to answer the same question again.

2. Pick correct forum - remember to read the descriptions for the various forums, don't start a topic about global warming in the Bugs & Troubleshooting forum for instance... (well... actually p.gif)

3. Topic-title

3.1 - Think of this as a headline for a newsitem, it's supposed to be something brief and catchy for readers to understand what the topic is about. Three or four words is optimal. Eventually you can add a bit longer description in the second topic-field.

3.2 - Don't POST ALL CAPS <--- it looks like you are shouting, it's irritating, and it looks stupid. A Good Topic Should Not Contain More Than One Uppercap Per Word.

3.3 - Don't use lots of !!! ????????? !?!?!?!?! - one is enough, in rare cases two or three maximum.

4. The post

4.1 - Try making yourself as clear as possible so others can understand.

4.2 - Don't spam smileys - a few will do ).gif A general thumbrule is not more than one smiley per paragraph.

4.3 - When replying to others, try avoid posting one or two-word replies, exept in cases where only confirmation is needed, and even then, you can try to explain why. Avoid short posts like "Yes", "No", "haha!", "funny" and so on.

4.4 - Preview and spellcheck! Try to avoid spelling-mistakes if possible. Reading over your post once in the preview-mode helps a lot! Not everyone is fluent in English, but at least try ).gif
